Anangu Ivar (அணங்கு ஐவர்) - Bharatanatyam Performance for Palmera Projects Charity

Natyakshetra School of Dance presented the stories of five celestial women, staging Anangu Ivar (அணங்கு ஐவர்) on 25 February 2023 under the guidance of Smt. Anursha Tharmarajah.

This show focused on the five women from Tamil literature: Draupadi, Kunthi, Akalikai, Tharai and Mandothari. Each of these five women have been idolised and honoured throughout history as role models of womanhood and feminism. Their strength and virtue are unparalleled; and their powerful stories tell tales of defiance from a patriarchal society.

The show was performed by the senior dancers of Natyakshetra - Amesha Darshana, Arunthathy Surendra, Durga Shivaji, Karthiga Manoharan and Sribhairavy Manogharan.

All profits from the show were donated to the Palmera charity.
